The Process We Follow

Building any road – whether tolled or non-tolled – requires taking steps to protect the environment. As a local agency, the Mobility Authority recognizes the importance of protecting the natural resources that are unique to Central Texas.

While all our projects comply with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and use the TxDOT environmental compliance process (where TxDOT is the state approval authority), we strive to go beyond compliance and rely heavily on the public’s feedback to make our projects better.

The Mobility Authority is committed to working closely with environmental agencies and groups, neighborhood residents and all interested stakeholders to ensure projects are developed in a manner that is consistent with community needs and environmental regulations.

We worked extensively to receive feedback from the community on the proposed extension of 183A during the environmental process. Thank you to all those who provided us comments. We continue to welcome your feedback, and comments can be submitted on the Contact Us page of this website.
